this entry is a summary of my m'sia trip, do make urself comfy b4 startin to read cos its gonna be really~ long.. =)
the 1st day in m'sia was quite a journey, left s'pore at bout 1+ and reach at bout 4+, we stayed at Hyatt Rgency hotel, its location was like on top of a hill with poor phone reception and had absolutely no civilisations aound it, the nearest place is the Denga Bay (if i remembered correctly), its sorta like a fusion of our esplanade and downtown east, except that its called a place for international cuisine. Its has ferris wheels, rollercoasters n tt kinda thing in a high class pasar malam style, n its 20 mins away if you drive. (-_-") Together we stayed seperately in 5 rooms, but ours and jing's rooms r only ready after 2 n a half hours after the others, the reason they gave us is that, 'each room takes 45 mins to clean up and cos u request for rooms on the same level, we take a onger time'... we were like wat?! it was 4+ n u mean to tell me u allow ur guest to only check out now? n our request n bookings were like given weeks ago, omg! wat a welcoming gift to hyatt... anyway, after jing's uncle demanded that the remaining guest, (tt's me n my mum, jing n her mum) be served drinks while we wait, the others proceed to their rooms to rest. So the 4 of us went to hv a complimentary drink at the lounge n waited n waited, (the receptionist said they'll inform us after they're ready) BUT, after our drinks n snacks, its still wasn't ready, only after we went n asked again, and magically our rooms r ready, a fine experience.. The room wasn't fantastic like wat i was expecting, the toilet door was comin apart and the plug in the bathtub is rusty, it looks like they haven been renovating for the longest time, somewat reminded me of our hotel in goldcoast but cleaner.. its always a luxury to travel with mummy cos she knows exactly wat to do to make a place more comfy~ thks mum! -hugs!-
we then had a buffet dinner at the lounge, its an international german buffet (which doesn't make sense to me, its either int'll or german, but int'll german buffet?! duhx!) its so-so, not fantastic, n i asked jing's sis, ning, to pack vegetarian food for my mum from outside cos they were at the bridal studio preparing for the wedding..
The next day morning was hectic, all woke up early and had brakfast then changed n did the hair n make up n waited for the groom, the bride's mum was irritated as the groom was running late but turn out tt the groom was at the carpark waiting for one of the little cousin to 'open' the car door for him (its a chinese tradition) and due to miscommunication we were not running late but had a lot of time left.
After the groom came, jing, me, the make up artist who is also jing's 6th aunt and 2 little boys went over to the groom's place, it was a 1/2 hr or 45 mins ride, i cant remember cos i fell asleep, oops.. tired ma.. =P its a different experience, the groom mum's lived at a shop house, in fact the streets were all made up of shophouses, like the 70s shophouses, the groom's mum opened a salon and her apartment was behind, [ its was a culturally different experience for me as being a downright spoilt rotten brat and an easily rashed dust detector i've nv been to the 'kampong' places, i haven even been to pulau ubin for christ sake.. yea, i know, i'm a 'su-ku', my frens have already told me that.. ] i found it interesting and fun, the people there were warm and hospitable, except for the legendary 'gan ma' of the groom, [ i've already heard from jing that she is one hell of a fierce women who is demading and loud and wants everyone to respect and listen to her , in the wedding dinner held in s'pore, she demanded for all the pig heads that were served (meaning other tables' as well) to be 'da bao-ed' for her and when the steamed fish was served she demanded loudly to the waiter that she wants the fish head n tail and a portion of meaty part.. Anyway, we after the tea ceremony n after the bride changed n touched up, we went back to the hotel, this time i was fully awake discussing maple story with jing's 6th aunt's eldest son, boy was he impressed when he knows i'm a lvl 60 mage, haha.. kids r easily impressed n wants to add me as buddy, (he's only in primary sch)
All of us went back to the hotel and rested n had tea in the lounge, then changed n waited for transport to pick us up to go to the dinner place at a seafood restaurant, i sat with my mum at the vegetarian table n met 2 lovely kids who were so adorable n well behaved, the food was gd, they really know their vegetarian cooking unlike the other vegetarian tables i've sat at other weddings. However, the vege table was in a v.i.p room that is so well sound proof that even with the door opened, we didn't know wat was goin on outside, we did'nt know tt the bride n groom entered n had toast w the neither did we hear the emcee, incredible! The tables wasn't well arranged as for a table of 10 pple, we only had 4 adults and 2 primary sch children..
Overall, the restaurant had a sour-ish smell tt's really weird but it may be due to my quirky eating habits but i enjoyed their service, the young waitress n waiter tt took turns to serve us were very friendly n smiley unlike the ones here, professional as they r, they always seem too aloof to me.. Back to the hotel, jing's mum was complaining to my mummy tt the legendary 'gan-ma' strikes again, she was so demanding and over-bearing that 2 of the groom's mum's cousin stormed off from the red table (where they sitting with the bride n groom) to another table leaving the table 2 sits empty, mummy later explained to me tt it is impt for the 'red table' to be fully occupied as its a kinda manners n ettiqutte kinda thingy... phew~ with that, dinner ended...
the nxt day we had breakfast, checked out n went shopping, didn't really hv time n throughout the trip wasn't feeling well so didn't buy much, mum bought pressies for our neighbour n jess n ida n mum's fav hp pouches tt can only be found in m'sia, while i bought some stuff from the bodyshop n a belt for my bro and it was home-sweet-home..
